Starting with Arduino..... An introduction.

Arduino Mega is a microcontroller board. A microcontroller in layman's term is like a small computer like your desktop PC in the form of a chipset. We know that PC is compose of a processor, memory, storage drive, and graphics card all hooked up in a motherboard slots; a microcontroller is just the same thing. A microcontroller is compact combination of processor, memory, and flash drive all-in-one tiny chip.

The next thing to know how a chip become a working thing?

The chipset have its legs called port (sorry not engineering term), those are wires (like a crab legs) extended from its body and each legs or port has its functions.
